Paula has been involved artistically most of her life. Early in her career she worked as
a freelance designer for “Provo Craft Publishing” who printed five books of her designs.
She began a ten year business hand painting clothing as well as having her designs
screen-printed on shirts.
Although primarily self taught, she has attended workshops, and studied many artists
work until her own style evolved. While teaching children’s drawing, Paula developed
a fascination for painting figure and portraits of women and children. More recently
she enjoys painting Indian children and florals.
Paula is a signature member of the Dixie Utah Watercolor Association. She has participated in the
Zion Bank Staircase Gallery, the Rimrock Gallery in St. George, receiving several Best of Shows
and other numerous awards including Judges Choice at the 2003 Washington, Utah County Fair and
several First Place awards in Hurricane Peach Days over the years. She has been invited to the Exclusive
Sears Dixie Invitational for eight years; received an Honorable Mention in 2006 and third place watercolor
in 2010. Recently, she won Best of Show in both the Spring and Fall 2013 Dixie Watercolor Shows.
Paula graduated from Brigham Young University. She lives with her husband in Hurricane, Utah. They
have four children and ten grandchildren. Watercolor is her "passion" as she loves to see the colors mix so
beautifully and easily on paper, creating wonderful, spontaneous surprises.
